Chee Lam Design
Description
Designed as a cluster of interconnected pavilions, this 5-bedroom residence is perched on a steep sloping bush land site. The configuration of the house on the site retains most of the existing trees in the landscape including various feature rock outcrops. Oriented to the north, the residence incorporates a combination of active and passive design controls and has been planned around the idea of ‘living’ and ‘sleeping’ pavilions with a strong relationship to its surrounds. Playing with traditional vernacular materials in a contemporary interpretation, the residence comprises a combination of corrugated sheeting, structural steel and extensive timber decks.
