As part of Westfield's fresh food market area, this fishmonger is sited in a key position adjacent to a leading supermarket chain and a central escalator. Due to the previous tenant also being a fishmonger's but one which had not traded well, the new tenant had to circumvent perception issues by creating a significant point of difference and an entirely new brand presence.
The new business not only sells fresh seafood but also has a cooked-to-order offer and hence the layout's counters surround customers whilst allowing easy access to both sides of the store. As a family-run business spanning some 30-plus years, the business already had a strong reputation for fresh, quality seafood. Playing on the family's heritage, tradition and dedication to quality, the concept and palette references timber wharves and piers. Undeniably contemporary, the new interior exudes warmth with its weathered-timber and raw concrete tones.
